Villa Salève in Archamps

A Contemporary Architecture in Dialogue with the Salève Landscape
This renovation and extension project reinterprets traditional architecture through a contemporary lens, achieving perfect harmony with its surroundings. Located in Archamps, the Villa du Salève expands with a natural timber-frame elevation, contrasting with the mineral-rendered base of the ground floor. This interplay of materials highlights the balance between tradition and modernity.
A Materiality Rooted in Its Territory
The timber structure and green roof enhance the building’s integration into the landscape while improving its thermal performance. Expansive openings frame the surrounding views, creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior, elevating the relationship between living space and nature.
A Sustainable and Bioclimatic Approach
Designed according to bioclimatic principles, the project optimizes energy efficiency through the thermal inertia of materials and a carefully studied orientation. More than just an extension, this intervention redefines living space as a dialogue with its territory, where architecture becomes a refined frame for the landscape.
